Sheet Tracker: Turn Any Google Sheet Into a Live Dashboard

Most lead pipelines, signup logs, and order trackers live in a Google Sheet. Sheet Tracker turns that sheet into a real dashboard — without exporting, without copy-pasting, and without standing up a CRM you don't need.

A surprising number of small businesses run their entire pipeline out of one Google Sheet. Lead form responses pour in. Someone on the team logs orders. The founder logs every signup. It works — until you realize you're scrolling through 800 rows every morning trying to figure out what's new and who hasn't been called yet.

That's the gap Sheet Tracker fills. Paste a Google Sheets URL, map a couple of columns, and you get a live dashboard with the kind of views you'd normally have to build by hand: latest entries by date, filter by owner, dedupe by phone or email, and a 30-day trend chart.

What it does

Sheet Tracker reads a Google Sheet you already have and adds the layer that makes it useful day to day:

  • Auto-detect columns.Reads your header row and infers types — date, number, email, phone, text. You don't configure anything to get started.
  • Date presets. One click for “Today”, “Yesterday”, “Last 7 days”, or “Last 30 days”. No formulas, no pivot tables.
  • Column filters. Low-cardinality columns (status, source, RM, etc.) become dropdowns automatically. Everything else is a quick text filter. Combine them.
  • Global search across every column.
  • Dedupe by phone or email with a toggle — keeps the most recent row per key.
  • Dashboard tiles — total rows, today, yesterday, last 7 days — plus a 30-day sparkline and breakdowns by owner and status.
  • Multiple sheets. Connect as many as you like. Switch between them from the sidebar.
  • CSV exportof whatever you've filtered down to.

Who this is for

Anyone whose “CRM” is actually a Google Sheet:

  • Sales teams running off lead form responses, especially when one form feeds one sheet via Zapier or a Google Form.
  • Founders tracking signups, demo requests, or waitlist entries before they need a real CRM.
  • Operations keeping order logs, ticket logs, or daily activity sheets and needing a quicker way to see what's new.
  • Recruiters tracking candidates in a sheet shared across the team.

If your workflow is “open the sheet, sort by date, filter by owner, copy the new ones” — Sheet Tracker collapses that into one click.

How to use it

  1. In Google Sheets: Share→ set to “Anyone with the link → Viewer”. Sheet Tracker only reads, never writes — but it needs that share level to read.
  2. Open Sheet Tracker, paste the URL, give it a name.
  3. Open Settings and pick which column is the date, which is the owner/RM, which is the status, and which to dedupe by. Sheet Tracker tries to guess from header names, but a 10-second mapping makes the dashboard noticeably better.
  4. Use it. Hit Refresh any time you want the latest data — or press it as a morning ritual.

Where the data lives

This is the question that matters when the sheet contains lead data. Sheet Tracker keeps everything browser-side:

  • Connections, column mappings, and cached rows live in your browser's localStorage.Pulsyr doesn't have a database row for any of it.
  • The CSV fetch is proxied through pulsyr.in.This is necessary because Google's sheet export endpoint doesn't reliably allow direct browser fetches (a CORS issue). The proxy passes the response straight back to your browser — Pulsyr doesn't store the contents.
  • The sheet itself stays in Google. Sheet Tracker never edits it.

If your data is so sensitive that even a proxy is too much, Sheet Tracker isn't the right tool — at that point you probably want a private internal app. For ordinary lead/order/signup workflows, this is the right tradeoff.

Why this is different from a custom dashboard

You could absolutely build the same view in Looker Studio, Glide, or Retool. Sheet Tracker exists for the case where that's overkill: you don't want to provision anything, you don't want to invite the team, you just want the sheet you already have to feel like a tool. Five minutes of setup, no signup, no monthly bill.

It also pairs naturally with Pulsyr's other bespoke browser tool — Website Multi-Device Preview — if you also want to spot-check how a landing page looks across iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and 4K screens before sending it to your sales team.

Try it

Sheet Tracker is live at pulsyr.in/tools/data-tools/sheet-tracker. Free, no signup. If you have a Pulsyr account, it's also available inside the dashboard under Tools → Sheet Tracker, and your saved connections sync between the two views (since they both read from the same browser storage).

Want a feature added — saved filter presets, “new since I last looked” highlighting, daily email digest, write-back to the sheet? Let us know. The roadmap is being shaped by what people actually ask for.
